Five Mile House to hold BBQ & BINGO Fund Raiser
The Charleston V.F.W. on 20th Street, one block east of Casey’s, will be the scene of the Five Mile House 2017 Fund Raising Barbeque and Bingo Blast, Saturday, September 9, 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Food will be served 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and Bingo will be played 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
WBs Pub will provide pulled pork or chicken breasts with 3 sides, drinks and a home-made dessert. Over the Hills will play Irish and country music during the meal, 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Bingo commences at 1:00 p.m. and continues until 3:00 p.m. The winner of each bingo game will win $20 plus merchant prizes. In addition, there will be a $50 game at 2:00 p.m. and a $100 game at the end of the event. In addition, there will be a 50/50 raffle and raffles for prizes which include a St. Louis Cardinals crib quilt and a child’s bike.
Tickets for the BBQ meal are $9.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 10 and may be purchased at the door. Take-out is available. Bingo is 25 cents per card per game and raffle tickets are $1.00 each.
The Five Mile House committee is raising funds to move a 147-year-old barn to the 5 Mile House site to serve as a blacksmith/carpenter shop, exhibit and education center, and community gathering space.
